In issue 10/2024, Stiftung Warentest tested our boep Kids easy-combing spray scented together with 14 other leave-in conditioners and found that the filling quantity contained was just below the tolerated deviation.

An internal investigation that took place before the results were published revealed that a technical error had occurred during the production of this batch. Instead of the stated 150 ml, only 140 ml were mistakenly bottled, as was the case with the product tested by Stiftung Warentest, which led to an understandable downgrade of the overall rating. Important for you: The composition, tolerability and effectiveness of the product are not affected by this.

We notified all affected customers at the beginning of August, apologized and compensated them. The remaining products in the batch were immediately taken back by our producer. Other products and all new easy-comb sprays are not affected by the deviation.

But what makes us happy, apart from our mistake, is that the care properties such as combability and detangling as well as the use of leave-in conditioners in general were also tested by Stiftung Warentest. The result: a grade of "good" for combability, feel and shine and even a grade of "very good" for antistatic effect and no greasy appearance. Our easy-comb spray impresses with its mild formulation that leaves no residue.

Even the environmental issue is included in the overall product rating by Stiftung Warentest, with 10%. We are delighted with the top rating of "very good", because you will not find silicones and modified silicones in our certified natural cosmetics. The environmentally critical substances tested, such as polyquaternium compounds and complexing agents, are of course not contained in our products either.

Stiftung Warentest aims to help consumers find the right and most affordable products or services through comparative tests and information. The focus is on product properties, functionality and applicability. Synthetic ingredients are therefore often rated "better" than natural ingredients because their performance is higher. However, we believe that our good results show that purely natural compositions can also make combing easier.

In contrast, Öko-Test, whose seal you will occasionally find on our products, focuses more on the evaluation of ingredients, with the functionality and application of the products being less of a priority.
Tests of the same product that appear comparable at first glance can therefore lead to very different results. We therefore recommend that you read the results correctly, interpret them and use the information they contain according to your own priorities.
