Bathing with sensitive skin and neurodermatitis: care and relaxation for sensitive skin types

Sensitive skin often reacts more sensitively to external influences, frequent bathing and incorrect care. We give you valuable tips on what you should definitely pay attention to when bathing with sensitive skin and neurodermatitis.

Ingredients for sensitive skin

Sensitive skin doesn't need much! So make sure your bath additive has a clean, reduced formula with hypoallergenic ingredients. These ingredients soothe the skin and moisturize at the same time. Vegetable squalane, for example, is a natural ingredient that is very similar to the skin's own sebum. Almond oil also has a low allergy potential and is a suitable ingredient for very sensitive skin. A few drops of the oil in the bath water protect the skin from moisture loss.

The right water temperature

The water temperature is also crucial when bathing with sensitive skin. Water that is too warm can dry out the skin further. The ideal water temperature is between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius.

Avoid rubbing and scratching

It is important that you only gently pat your skin dry after bathing and avoid vigorous rubbing or scrubbing with the towel. This will not only prevent additional skin irritation, but will also ensure that the important fats from the bath remain on the skin as an oily film.

Gentle care after bathing

Don't forget to apply cream: With a gentle moisturizing cream, you can give your skin an extra dose of moisture after bathing. Here, too, you should definitely look for hypoallergenic ingredients. Instead of a cream, you can also apply a high-quality oil, such as almond oil, to the still damp skin and massage it in.

We recommend a 10-15 minute bath with the care bath from our med series , a nourishing bath additive with protective oil components from jojoba oil, organic shea butter and squalane.
