For many parents, a set evening routine is an important part of ending the day with their baby in peace. However, it can be quite a challenge to find and establish a set evening routine with your baby, especially in the first few months. But it's worth it, because children have been proven to benefit from it from around 4 weeks of age. They may not yet be able to use words and don't understand them at all, but they have been trying to understand how the world around them works from the very beginning. With a little patience, lots of love and, above all, consistency, an evening routine can help your baby feel safe and secure and fall asleep better.
Our educator and baby sleep expert Lina shares with you her 3 tips for a gentle end to the day with baby:
1. IMPORTANT NUTRIENTS IN THE EVENING
The best way to start your evening routine with your baby is with the last breastfeeding and feeding session . This will not only provide your baby with all the nutrients it needs, but will also create a valuable, calming moment of closeness and security .
2. BATHING & PAMPERING FOR SPECIAL BOND MOMENTS
After breastfeeding or feeding, you can now get your baby ready for bed. This can look very different and individual for each baby. For example, some babies enjoy bathing, while others may even be too tired for it.
Our tip: At the end of the day, pamper your baby with our high-quality, natural baby almond oil . The oil not only ensures velvety soft, well-cared-for baby skin, but also creates very special bonding moments between you and your baby. After bathing, wrap your baby in a soft towel and dry it gently. Then you can change it and make it.
Did you know that you can also use our baby almond oil to clean the diaper area? You can find more information and tips here .
3. CUDDLING TIME WITH A LOT OF CLOSENESS
After that, your child needs one thing above all else: lots of closeness! For this special cuddle time, you should first create a pleasantly dark, quiet sleeping environment.
Gentle touches, soothing melodies or quiet noise in the background give your child a feeling of security and allow them to gradually calm down. For example, you can simply put your hand on their stomach and gently guide them to sleep. Once your baby has fallen asleep, you can quietly leave the room.
FOR OLDER TODDLERS AND CHILDREN
Older toddlers and children also benefit from an evening routine . And here too, the basic principles are the same: create a relaxed atmosphere, introduce loving evening activities and fixed relaxation rituals and give your child a lot of closeness and security at the end of the day.
