Med Basic Cream vs. Med Day Cream - what's the difference?

Our med Base Cream has been a firm component of our med series for over three years and is much loved by many of our customers for its nourishing properties. So it only makes sense that it has long been at the top of our bestseller list. ✨

We are also big fans of the Base Cream and use it to care for our dry skin on the boep team! And yet, we have now developed a med Day Cream. Hmm... if I can use both products on my face, you might be asking yourself what the difference is! That's a totally legitimate question, and that's why we're happy to give you a concise answer in this article.

What is the difference between Day Cream and Base Cream?

Our med Day Cream is a very moisturizing day cream for people with rather dry facial skin who are looking for a rich cream that doesn't feel heavy and is pleasantly light to wear. We primarily developed it as a daily cream for sensitive facial skin, but you can, of course, also use it on other areas of the skin. The most important ingredients in the Day Cream are hyaluronic acid, moisturizing squalane and vegetable glycerin, as well as vitamin E (tocopherol). The practical Airless pump dispenser of the med Day Cream ensures practical dispensing day after day – right down to the last drop!

Our med Base Cream also moisturizes, of course, but was specially developed for use in the basic care of skin affected by neurodermatitis and thus for the whole body. The lipid content of the cream roughly corresponds to the lipid content of "healthy" skin, so that your skin gets exactly what it needs and what it lacks due to neurodermatitis. In addition, it contains high-quality organic evening primrose oil, which is particularly rich in gamma-linolenic acids and thus strengthens the skin barrier. Besides vegetable glycerin, the cream contains hardly any other ingredients and is therefore particularly mild and hypoallergenic in its formulation. For daily use on the whole body and in basic therapy, the Base Cream is even available in a practical 500ml airless pump dispenser at a reduced price.

In short: The med Day Cream contains various ingredients (including hyaluronic acid) that have been perfectly developed for use on the face and to reduce signs of skin aging – the med Base Cream moisturizes the body, contains organic evening primrose oil, and should be applied twice daily as part of basic care.

Isn't the Base Cream also a Day Cream?

In short; yes, our med Base Cream is a very moisturizing cream that is ideal for dry and sensitive skin. You can use it on your face as well as on dry areas all over your body. It is also perfectly suited as a basic care for skin affected by neurodermatitis - here you should use the cream continuously and preferably twice a day.

Are both products suitable for neurodermatitis?

Yes, you can safely use both products for very sensitive skin prone to neurodermatitis. Of course, every skin is individual and reacts differently, but we have carefully and consciously selected the ingredients for this requirement.

Both formulations are consciously fragrance-free and hypoallergenic. All ingredients are vegan, certified according to strict natural cosmetic guidelines, and dermatologists have rated their skin compatibility as "very good".

Is hyaluronic acid suitable for sensitive skin?

That's a very good question - because at first glance, a substance with "acid" in its name doesn't sound like an ingredient for sensitive skin or even skin prone to neurodermatitis. We have therefore dedicated an extra blog article to this topic, where you can find all the important information bundled together.
