Baby Shower – Gift Ideas for a Baby Party

The baby shower is a wonderful custom to celebrate the expectant mother and her baby. Most baby showers actually take place in the last trimester of pregnancy, about four to six weeks before the due date. Guests typically include close friends, relatives, and colleagues who come together to have a good time and bring a little joy to the expectant mother (and father) with loving gifts.

But what gifts are particularly suitable for a baby shower? Here are some creative and useful ideas from our team:

Practical and thoughtful gift ideas

1. Mom-to-be calendar: Our pregnancy calendar with small surprises for mom and baby is definitely number 1. It is always well-received and can sweeten the anticipation and waiting time for the baby in the last weeks of pregnancy.

2. Diaper cake: A creative and at the same time super practical gift idea, consisting of rolled-up diapers and small baby items, artfully arranged into a multi-tiered "cake". It can optionally be decorated with useful baby items such as pacifiers, care products, or muslin cloths. You can find instructions and all the matching items for your DIY diaper cake here.

3. Baby care in trial sizes: A collection of care products in handy trial sizes is ideal for expectant parents and a great addition to the initial equipment – in our shop you will find small trial and travel sizes of our baby almond oil as well as a baby or diaper rash cream.

4. Book for the first year: A lovingly designed memory book in which the most beautiful moments, milestones and challenges of the first year of life can be recorded. Whether it's first steps, sweet photos or small anecdotes – this book will become a very special memory for the whole family.

5. Baby bump photoshoot or family photoshoot: A voucher for a professional photoshoot captures the special moments of pregnancy or the first days together with the baby for eternity. Since photoshoots are now relatively expensive, this would also be a nice group gift from all guests.

6. Massage voucher: Towards the end of pregnancy, many expectant mothers struggle with tension and back pain. How about a voucher for a soothing pregnancy massage, a special wellness treatment or a relaxing bath treatment as a small break in this exciting last trimester of pregnancy.

7. Small items for the changing bag: Wet wipes, small baby care products, a pacifier or an emergency diaper. These things are quickly at hand when needed and make life easier on the go with a baby.

8. Handmade mobile: A handmade mobile for the baby bed or changing table is not only a unique gift, but also a very personal keepsake. Whether made of felt, wood or paper – lovingly designed, it creates beautiful eye-catchers in the nursery.

9. Postpartum essentials: After the birth, new parents usually have little time to prepare elaborate meals. Healthy snacks, homemade ready meals or vouchers for delivery services can make everyday life in the first few weeks much easier – a very practical idea that really helps in the first few weeks!

10. Bake a favorite cake: Sometimes it's the small gestures that mean the most! The pregnant woman's favorite cake is a sweet gesture that she will especially appreciate – because time for baking will probably be scarce in the near future.

Shared experiences instead of gifts

If you don't want to give anything material, you can of course plan a nice activity for the baby shower instead. Here too, we have collected some ideas for you that we had the pleasure of experiencing at previous baby showers for friends:

Guess the baby pictures: Each guest brings a baby photo of themselves in advance. The pictures are numbered and hung on a pinboard or line. Now guests can guess which baby photo belongs to which guest – who guesses the most?

Guestbook with tips: In a beautifully designed notebook or on a large poster, guests can write down their best tips for the expectant parents. Whether funny advice, heartfelt messages or personal experiences – a wonderful memory of this special day will be created either way.

Pacifier grab: A fun skill game for everyone! A large bowl or tub is filled with water and several pacifiers are placed in it. The challenge: with their hands behind their back, participants must try to fish out as many pacifiers as possible with their mouths. The person who gets the most wins!

Diaper changing: Who is the diaper changing pro among you? Guests compete against each other and have to put a diaper on a doll as quickly as possible. For an extra challenge, the game can be made more difficult by only using one hand.

DIY – painting onesies or bibs: Creativity is key! Guests can design individual baby clothes with textile paints or fabric markers. Whether funny sayings, cute motifs or colorful patterns – each piece is sure to be unique. This creates a wonderful memory for the expectant parents and unique items of clothing for the baby.
